When you're going to be away for a considerable amount of time (for example, if you are on holiday), out-of-office replies are a good tool to use to ensure that you keep your clients in the loop.

This is fairly easy to do on the TechBunker server.

  1. Log in to your cPanel account - this can be done by going to your client area found here and then navigating to Services, clicking on the relevant hosting package and then clicking on Log in to cPanel; or by going to the cPanel itself and signing in with your web hosting credentials. This can be found here
  2. Once on the cPanel, navigate to the email section and click 'Autoresponders'.
  3. Click 'Add Autoresponder'
  4. Character set can be left as utf-8
  5. Interval is the amount of hours to wait before sending another out-of-office reply to the same person. 1 is recommended. This means that if the same person sends you 3 emails in the space of an hour, they will receive 1 auto-response.
  6. Email is the email address that you wish to have the auto-responder active on. (Usually this will be your email address).
  7. The From field is best to set to your full name.
  8. Subject and body are just the same as a normal email. Set these as you wish.
  9. Next, you are able to select a start and end date. This will automatically activate and deactivate the out-of-office reply, so you don't need to remember to turn it off!
  10. Click 'Create/Modify' and the autoresponder is ready to go.
